Search Process Begins for New Nebraska Ag Director

The process for naming a new State Ag Director in Nebraska got underway this week. That followed the resignation of Greg Ibach who was confirmed as an Under Secretary at USDA. Nebraska Cattlemen Association Executive Director Pete McClymont says it’s early in the process and Governor Pete Ricketts is taking his time to make sure a good pool is in place to choose from in naming Ibach’s replacement.

He expects as many as a dozen applicants could be considered for Nebraska State Ag Director and applications are now being taken online.

McClymont says the Governor has already appointed Deputy State Ag Director Matt Habrock as Interim Ag Director.

McClymont says Habrock would be a strong candidate as full-time State Ag Director, if he chooses to apply for the position.
