In his final Summit League Championship, South Dakota State’s Grant Smith is atop the leaderboard after two rounds Monday at the 2017 Summit League Championship.
Smith shot a one-over par 144 (71-73) on the par-72, 6,733-yard Sand Creek Station Golf Course. He collected a championship-leading seven birdies, three in the opening round and four in the second.
The Jackrabbits are third, shooting a 593 (293-300). They trail second-place North Dakota State by a stroke and leader Oral Roberts by eight strokes.
In his first league championship, Alejandro Restrepo is tied for fifth, firing a 147 (71-76). Sophomore Alejandro Perazzo is tied for 14th (73-76=149).
