South Dakota State junior Macy Miller scored the game-winning jumper at the buzzer as the Jackrabbits defeated Iowa, 66-64, Sunday afternoon in the Hawkeye Challenge in front of 3,826 fans in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

SDSU improves to 4-0, marking the best start to the season since 2008-09. Iowa falls to 4-1.

Miller, who was named the tournament MVP, broke a 64-64 tie after Iowa’s Megan Gustafson scored a put-back basket with five second remaining.

The Mitchell native recorded a game-high 22 points and a team-and personal-best 10 rebounds to record her third collegiate double-double. Senior Clarissa Ober finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Ellie Thompson netted 11 points and sophomore Madison Guebert added 10 points and 3 steals. The trio was named to the all-tournament team.

Gustafson led Iowa with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Ally Disterhoft had 16 points.
