Sophomore forward Ellie Thompson scored a game-high 16 points to lead the South Dakota State women’s basketball team to a 68-50 win over Oral Roberts Wednesday night at the Mabee Center.
The Jackrabbits improved to 17-4 overall and 7-1 in The Summit League. The Golden Eagles fall to 9-11 overall and 6-2 in league play. The win snaps the Golden Eagles’ six-game winning streak and extends the Jackrabbits’ league road record to 4-0.
Thompson (Chaska, Minn.) was 7 of 10 from the field and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sophomore guard Macy Miller (Mitchell) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and junior forward Clarissa Ober (Glencoe, Minn.) returned to the starting lineup and recorded 12 points and 3 blocks, including her 100th career block.
Oral Roberts was led by Jordan Doyle’s 11 points and Maria Martianez’s 14 rebounds.
