.Sophomore Chynna Stevens’ game-tying three-pointer with 0.4 in regulation capped a 15-6 run as the South Dakota State women’s basketball upset No. 25 Arkansas, 80-75 in overtime.

Trailing 62-53 with 21 seconds left, the Jackrabbits’ comeback started with freshman Macy Miller (Mitchell) converting a traditional three-point play and senior Mariah Clarin (Princeton, Minn.) stealing the Arkansas inbounds pass and scoring on a layup with 17 seconds.

After a pair of Razorback free throws, sophomore Kerri Young (Mitchell) sank a three-pointer with 10 seconds to go. Arkansas missed both free throws with 8 seconds before Stevens (Clark) hit the game-tying three-pointer to send the game into overtime.

Miller, who scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Jacks, scored 15 second-half points to lead the SDSU charge. The guard was 5 of 6 from the field and 6 for 6 from the free-throw line during the half.

In overtime, the Jackrabbits (5-2) outscored the previously unbeaten Razorbacks (6-1), 16-11, and shot 66.7 percent from the field and 78.6 percent from the foul line. Senior Megan Waytashek (Lino Lakes, Minn.) was 7 of 8 from the foul line in overtime and scored 14 points in the game.

Stevens recorded her second career double-double with 17 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Clarin finished with 11 points and 7 caroms.

The Jackrabbits last beat a ranked team in 2013-14 when they upset then-No. 11 Penn State, 83-79. SDSU’s last road win over a ranked team was at then-No. 25 Minnesota in 2008, 65-55.

South Dakota State concludes its four-game road swing with a 3 p.m. game at Northern Colorado Saturday.
