The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team used a 20-4 run in the first quarter and recorded an 88-79 victory over No. 16 DePaul Tuesday night in nonconference action at Frost Arena. 

The Jackrabbits, now 9-2, were led by Macy Miller’s (Mitchell) 19 points. Freshman guard Madison Guebert (Apple Valley, Minn.) added a career-high 16 points, fueled by four 3-point field goals while junior forward Clarissa Ober (Glencoe, Minn.) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Gabrielle Boever (Worthington, Minn.) picked up 11 points, 5 steals and 4 assists in 27 minutes as a reserve. Junior guard Kerri Young (Mitchell) recorded a game- and career-high 8 assists to go with 7 rebounds and 7 points.

 

DePaul, 7-4, was led by Chanise Jenkins’ game-high 22 points. Megan Podkowa added 21 points and 11 rebounds. Brooke Schulte and Jessica January added 14 and 13 points, respectively.

 

The last ranked team to lose in Frost Arena was then-No. 12 Penn State, 83-79, Dec. 11, 2013.
