The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team plays its first of two exhibition games as they host Minnesota Crookston Thursday night at Frost Arena.

The 7 p.m. game can be heard on 570 WNAX.

South Dakota State returns 5 starters and 10 letterwinners from last year’s squad that finished 27-7 overall and 13-3 in The Summit League. The Jackrabbits made their seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

• SDSU’s five returning starters are seniors Kerri Young (All-Summit League honorable mention) and Clarissa Ober (Summit League Defensive Player of the Year), juniors Macy Miller (First Team All-Summit League) and Ellie Thompson (Second Team All-Summit League) and sophomore Madison Guebert (Summit League Freshman of the Year).

• The Jackrabbits’ returning leaders: Scoring—Macy Miller (15.5 ppg); Rebounding—Clarissa Ober (8.0 rpg); Assists—Macy Miller (2.7 apg); Blocked Shots—Clarissa Ober (2.0 bpg); Steals—Macy Miller (1.2 spg); 3-Pointers—Madison Guebert (83); Free Throws—Macy Miller (114); Minutes—Madison Guebert (959).

• South Dakota State reached the 20-win plateau for the 9th time in the last 10 seasons under 17th-year head coach Aaron Johnston. The Jackrabbits have won at least 20 games in 19 seasons since women’s basketball started at SDSU in 1966.
