The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team made the most of eight second-half field goals Saturday afternoon in a 66-62 win over Northern Colorado in front of 2,449 fans at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits, now 6-2, used a 3-point field goal by senior guard Gabrielle Boever (Worthington, Minn.) with 23.7 seconds remaining to take a 65-61 lead over the Bears. The teams then closed the game by making one free throw.
South Dakota State had four players score in double figures. Sophomore guard Macy Miller (Mitchell) led the way with 14 points while freshman guard Madison Guebert added a career-high 13 points. Junior forward Clarissa Ober (Glencoe, Minn.) recorded her second-straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while junior guard Kerry Young (Mitchell) finished with 10 points.
Northern Colorado (5-3) was led by Katie Longwell’s 17 points. Longwell made five 3-pointers.
