.It took 114 games, but the South Dakota State women’s basketball secured its 100th Summit League win in January last season.
Now with the 2015-16 conference schedule announced Tuesday, the Jackrabbits begin their hunt for 16 more wins.
As part of the 16-game Summit League schedule, SDSU plays eight home-and-home contests. Four of the eight home Summit League contests fall on a Saturday at Frost Arena, including against rivals South Dakota (Jan. 16) and North Dakota State (Feb. 6).
South Dakota State’s full schedule, which will include television broadcast information, is expected to be available in early September. Nonconference dates and times are also subject to change, and fans are encouraged to continue checking GoJacks.com for updates.
The Jackrabbits open their Summit League schedule on the road at Denver (Jan. 1) and at North Dakota State (Jan. 3). SDSU hosts Omaha (Jan. 7) in its home opener in the friendly confines of Frost Arena where it has won its last 18 consecutive league home games, dating to the 2012-13 season. The Jacks led The Summit League in home attendance and ranked in the nation’s top 100 last season, averaging more than 2,000 fans per game.
South Dakota State travels east to Fort Wayne (Jan. 13) before beginning a three-game home stand that pits it against two of the three top finishing teams in the league. The Jacks host in-state rival South Dakota, IUPUI (Jan. 21) and Western Illinois (Jan. 23). The Jackrabbits return to the road, traveling to Oral Roberts (Jan. 27) and Omaha (Feb. 4).
South Dakota State plays four of its final seven Summit League games at home in February. It faces North Dakota State, Oral Roberts (Feb. 11), Fort Wayne (Feb. 13) and Denver (Feb. 18).
The Jacks’ last road trip includes stops at South Dakota (Feb. 20), at IUPUI (Feb. 25) and at Western Illinois (Feb. 27).
The Summit League Championship will be held March 5-8, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
