The South Dakota State women’s basketball team is joining the SDSU men’s team in putting their dancing shoes on.

South Dakota State University sophomore guard Macy Miller (Mitchell) recorded her second career double-double as the Jackrabbits recorded a 61-55 win over South Dakota in The Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship Tuesday afternoon in front of a championship game record 8,647 fans at the PREMIER Center. 

Miller, who finished with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, was named the tournaments most valuable player. Freshman guard Madison Guebert (Apple Valley, Minn.) added 14 points, including a game-high three 3-point field goals, to earn a place on the all-tournament team. Sophomore Ellie Thompson (Chaska, Minn.) also scored 11 points and blocked 3 shots. 

The tournament win is South Dakota States seventh in the past eight championships. SDSU is now 21-1 all-time in the tournament. The Jackrabbits, who will receive The Summit Leagues automatic NCAA Tournament berth, are 26-6. 

USD, now 26-6, was led by Nicole Seekamps 22 points. Kelly Stewart added 11 points

. SDSU will learn its next opponent during the NCAA Selection Show March 14.
