South Dakota State University head women’s basketball coach Aaron Johnston announced the addition of Ena Viso (E-na VI-so) Wednesday, as Viso signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Jackrabbits next season.

 

The 5-foot-11 guard from Copenhagen, Denmark, started two seasons at Northeast Community College and earned All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division I First Team honorable mention, All-Nebraska JUCO Team honorable mention and All-Region honorable mention this past season. Additionally, Viso was a two-time second-team all-region academic honoree.

 

The sophomore averaged 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from three-point range.

 

Viso helped Northeast crack the National Junior College Athletic Association top 25 in 2014-15, climbing as high at No. 17. The Hawks reached the Region XI championship game and finished their season 25-6. She was listed as one of the region’s top returning players by the NJCAA.

 

As a freshman, Viso and Northeast went 26-4, reaching the regional championship game. She averaged 9.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

 

Viso was a two-year starter for the BK Amager club team and played four games for the Danish National Team in 2011-12 and played with the DameLigaen’s All-Star team. She started for the Danish National Team Under-18 team in 2010-11 and in the U18 European Championship and averaged 7.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in eight games.
