Year end awards from the Summit League in women’s basketball include a trio of South Dakota State and South Dakota players as well as the SDSU coach.
South Dakota State University women’s basketball players Megan Waytashek and Steph Paluch earned All-Summit League honors, and Kerri Young was honored as the Summit League Sixth Woman of the Year and on the All-Newcomer Team Thursday.
In addition, Jackrabbit mentor Aaron Johnston was named Summit League Coach of the Year after leading South Dakota State to its fifth regular-season title. Votes by the league’s head coaches, sports information directors and select media members determined the conference awards.
South Dakota’s Nicole Seekamp was named first-team All-Summit League, Polly Harrington garnered second team honors and junior Raeshel Contreras gained All Newcomer honors.
