South Dakota State earned a home tie while South Dakota lost a road outing in college soccer Sunday.

South Dakota State women’s soccer shook off a halftime deficit with a late second half goal to draw with Kansas, 1-1, on Sunday at Fishback Soccer Park.

Maggie Smither played the final 65 minutes to earn her first career decision in the net, picking up five saves (including two in the overtime periods). Nicole Inskeep got the start and played the opening 45 minutes. Madison Yueill scored her second goal of the season in as many games for the Jackrabbits lone goal.

 

Cal State Northridge sophomore Lindsay Kutscher scored a pair of goals within a two minute span to lead the Matadors past the Coyotes 4-0 on Sunday at Matador Soccer Field.

 

CSUN (2-1-1) outshot South Dakota (1-2-1) 32-6 in the match. The Coyotes put four of their six shots on-target, while the Matadors had a 46.8 percent (15-of-32) shot-on-goal percentage.
