South Dakota State University and South Dakota swimmers will once again chase Denver for Summit League superiority.
The South Dakota State women’s swimming and diving team is picked to finish second in The Summit League preseason poll voted on by the league coaches and released by the league office.
The Jackrabbits finished second last season behind Denver, who was chosen to finish first with 36 votes. SDSU finished ahead of IUPUI and South Dakota, who are tied for third (24 points), Omaha in fifth (20 points), Eastern Illinois in sixth (9 points) and Western Illinois in seventh (8 points).
After finishing third in The Summit League last season, the South Dakota State men’s swimming and diving team was picked to finish third with 15 points in the preseason poll voted on by the league’s coaches the league announced Wednesday.
Defending champion Denver was picked first with 25 points, followed by IUPUI (21 pts). The Jackrabbits finished ahead of Western Illinois and South Dakota, who were both tied for fourth place (12 points) and Eastern Illinois coming in at sixth (4 points).
