SDSU To Offer Carbon Credits Webinar

Exchanging carbon credits through contracts is an idea that has captured many farmers’ attention.  South Dakota State University will hold a zoom webinar Friday morning to address carbon credits.  Heather Gessner is the Business Livestock Field Specialist and says before farmers sign a carbon credit contract, they should first know the benefits and disadvantages of said contracts.  Gessner says many companies have made a pledge to reduce their carbon foot print by exchanging carbons with farmers, and says no two contracts will be the same.  The SDSU business livestock specialist says farmers will want to know the consequences if they change their production.  The carbon credits webinar will begin this Friday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m.  Participants can register by going on-line at the SDSU extension webpage, then click on the events tab, and register your name for the webinar information.
