After each recording two exhibition wins, the South Dakota State men’s and women’s basketball teams open regular season play Friday night.

South Dakota State men’s basketball opens the season with a two game road trip, starting with a long-awaited game against Buffalo on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. A long-awaited game because the Jackrabbits and Bulls scheduled the game for Jan. 3, 2014, but weather in Chicago closed the airport, stranding the Jacks at home.

Coming off its eighth consecutive postseason appearance and 17th 20-win season, the South Dakota State women’s basketball team opens its 49th basketball campaign Friday when it hosts West Coast Conference foe Brigham Young University in the friendly confines of Frost Arena at 8 p.m.

The men’s game will air on 570 WNAX and the Jackrabbit Sports Network while the women’s game is slated for WNAX-FM at 104.1.
