Four members of the South Dakota State University swimming and diving teams were honored with athlete of the week honors Tuesday by The Summit League.

On the men’s side, senior sprinter Ben Bolinske was named Swimmer of the Week, while Parker Brown earned Diver of the Week recognition.

Bolinske, from Rapid City by way of Williston, North Dakota, posted individual victories in the both the 50- and 100-meter races in a dual at the University of South Dakota on Nov. 11. He also swam the leadoff leg for the Jackrabbits’ winning 400-meter freestyle relay, which set a pool record with a time of 3:30.68.

Brown, a sophomore from Cambridge, Minnesota, turned in a season-best score of 248.55 in the 1-meter diving competition en route to winning the event title in the dual against USD.

In the women’s division, sophomore Kristin Erf earned Swimmer of the Week honors, with Olivia Olesiak receiving Diver of the Week recognition.

Olesiak, from Wyoming, Minnesota, was honored for the second time this season and fifth time in her career after turning in a pair of runner-up finishes in the dual against USD. Her 3-meter diving score of 274.73 set a new school record.

Erf, a native of Oakdale, Minnesota, swept the breaststroke events in the Nov. 11 dual and also recorded a third-place individual finish in the 200-meter individual medley. She also swam on the Jackrabbits’ winning 200-meter medley relay.

Both Jackrabbit squads return to action Friday, hosting the University of North Dakota in a 5 p.m. dual at the Stanley J. Marshall HPER Center Pool.
