South Dakota State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams scored easy victories in an exhibition basketball doubleheader Thursday at Frost Arena.
The SDSU men’s basketball team got a balanced effort in their final exhibition contest, as all 14 players in uniform played, 13 scored, five of them in double figures, as the Jackrabbits rolled to a 94-67 win over Dakota Wesleyan at Frost Arena.
The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team completed its exhibition season Thursday night with an 85-40 win over the University of Mary in front of 1,365 fans at Frost Arena.
Four of the five Jackrabbit men’s starters scored in double figures, led by Marshall and Ian Theisen with 14 points. Bittle finished with 13 and Deondre Parks 10 in the win.
Mike Daum tied for team-high honors with 14 points off the bench.
The Jackrabbit women, who went 2-0 in the exhibition season, were led by sophomore forward Ellie Thompson (Chaska, Minn.) and her game-high 18 points. Freshman guard Madison Guebert (Apple Valley, Minn.) added 16 points while sophomore guard Alexis Alexander (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) scored 12 points and junior guard Kerri Young (Mitchell) contributed 11 points and a team-high 5 assists. Junior forward Clarissa Ober (Glencoe, Minn.) snared a game-high nine rebounds.
