SDSU student Andrew Streff from the McCook Central FFA chapter in Salem has been named a finalist for the American Star in Ag Placement award. He joins three other finalists vying for the honor with the winner announced at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October. The award recognizes FFA members who have developed outstanding agricultural skills and experiences through completion of their supervised agricultural experience program.

He says besides working on his family’s farm, he also had a pair of internships working with his local cooperative and with Winfield United.

Streff says he and the other finalists will be judged at the National FFA convention where the winner will be named.

Streff is set to graduate from SDSU in May majoring in Ag Business and Minoring in Marketing. He hasn’t decided yet on his career path but wants eventually to return to run his family’s farm.
