South Dakota State University director of golf Casey VanDamme announced that Felipe Strobach (Lima, Peru) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Jackrabbits next season.
Strobach is the top-ranked amateur in Peru, ranked No. 703 in the World Amateur rankings and is a two-time member of the Peruvian National team.
“I choose SDSU because it is a great opportunity that I have to improve my golf, as well as studying at a great university,” Strobach said.
Strobach won the Internacional de Menores de Lima, shooting a 209 (73-70-66) and the Copa El Comercio 208 (70-68-70).
At the Latin PGA, the Lexus Peru Open, Strobach finished 54th, firing a 290 (70-73-72-75). He also placed fifth at the Internacional del Jockey Club de Rosario in Argentina (75-70-70-68=283).
This summer, Strobach will represent Peru in the Pan-American Games in Toronto at the Angus Glen Golf Club July 16-19.
