The on-going drought, particularly in the western regions of South Dakota, has prompted South Dakota State officials to organize a series of drought seminars designed to help producers with coping with the dry conditions. SDSU state climatologist Laura Edwards talks about the scheduled drought seminars.
Edwards says although the region did receive some much-needed rains last week, it was not enough to reduce the severity of the drought conditions.
The state climatologist explains what will take place at each of the seminars.
Edwards says the drought seminars are targeted more for ranchers with grazing livestock as opposed to row crop producers.
