The United Equestrian Conference announced that South Dakota State junior Angela Lopez earned UEC horsemanship rider of the month for September.

“This is a great way for Angela to kick off the season and I have no doubt that she’ll continue to contribute to the horsemanship squad,” head coach Ellie Wilkins said. “I’m excited to see what other successes she reaches in our upcoming competitions.”

A Brentwood, Calif., native, Lopez earns her first-ever monthly honor after posting a career-high 73.5 in earning not only her point, but MOP honors in the Jacks close loss to No. 2 South Carolina in their only September meet.

Lopez and the Jackrabbits return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, when they host Minnesota-Crookston at the DeHaan Equestrian Center at 10 a.m.
