New Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea research conducted at SDSU’s Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Lab is helping pork producers in dealing with the disease. Lab Director Dr. Jane Christopher Hennings says besides being able to get results of the presence of the disease quicker, it will help them to know when they can transport their animals.
Hennings says another benefit they discovered with their recent research is connected with immune response.
Hennings says their researchers at the SDSU Lab are also working on developing PED Virus Vaccines and looking at other swine diseases, PRRS and Coronavirus.
