South Dakota State University right-hander Chad Hodges has earned his league-leading fourth Summit League Pitcher of the Week award following a standout performance May 3 against Omaha.

A junior from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Hodges threw eight shutout innings in the second game of a doubleheader against the Mavericks, one SDSU won by a 3-0 score. Hodges allowed five hits, struck out three and walked two batters in recording his team-leading sixth win of the season.

Hodges shared this week’s honor with North Dakota State left-hander Parker Trewin. Hodges’s four Summit League Pitcher of the Week honors have come in four different months: Feb. 24, March 24, April 24 and May 5.

The Jackrabbits, 23-23 overall and 7-7 in The Summit League, host a four-game series against Western Illinois this weekend at Erv Huether Field. The series opener is slated for a 3 p.m. start Friday.
