A Friday night doubleheader at Frost Arena will officially open the basketball season for the South Dakota State men’s and women’s teams.

Coming off its sixth NCAA appearance, ninth consecutive postseason trip and 18th 20-win season, the South Dakota State women’s basketball team opens its 50th basketball campaign when it hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member Marist College.

The Jackrabbit men, coming off a season which landed them in the NIT tourney, will follow with a contest against Chadron State.

Both games can be heard on 570 WNAX and across the Jackrabbit Basketball Network. The women’s game tips off at 6 p.m. with the men playing about 8:30.
