SDSU, NDSU Have Top Runners

The South Dakota State men and the North Dakota State women were selected to hold the top spots in The Summit League cross country preseason coaches’ poll released Tuesday by league officials.

The three-time Summit League champion Jackrabbits totaled 36 points and received six of seven possible first-place votes. North Dakota State placed second with 31 points and the remaining first-place vote, while South Dakota took third with 26 points.

On the women’s side, 2018 Summit League Championship runner-up North Dakota State edged the five-time Summit League Champion South Dakota to claim the top spot in the preseason poll with 47 total points and five first-place votes. The Coyotes came in second with 45 total points and the remaining three first-place votes. The SDSU women are third.
