The final score was 13 to 10 as South Dakota State University was named the winner of the SHOWDOWN SERIES with their rival, the University of South Dakota. South Dakota Corn Grower’s President Scott Stahl made the announcement today.

He says what’s rewarding is that they were able to complete the competition during a difficult year plagued by the COVID 19 pandemic.

Stahl says it was particularly impressive that despite the pandemic there were thirteen sports completed during the SHOWDOWN SERIES compared to the normal sixteen.

The South Dakota Showdown Series began in 2012 and during that span, SDSU has won five times and USD has won four times.
