No. 3 seed South Dakota State put together a dramatic effort in the Summit League SoccerTournament semifinals, advancing 4-2 on penalty kicks against second-seeded Denver to clinch a spot in its third consecutive conference final.

The Jackrabbits (10-7-2) won the shot battle, 18-6, on the day, shaking off an early deficit to even things up at 1-all in the second half before winning the shootout.

Darien Poelstra scored the Jacks’ lone goal to lead the offense, as Tori Poole fired six shots and Lindsee Larson added four of her own. Nicole Hatcher recorded her Summit League-leading 10th assist of the season.
The Jacks will face Oral Roberts in the championship game.

The fourth-seeded Golden Eagles advanced to the final match with a 2-0 upset victory over No. 1 seed North Dakota State Thursday afternoon at Dacotah Field in Faro, N.D.
