The 59th annual Beef Bowl was held at South Dakota State University in Brookings on Saturday. SDSU Animal Science Department Head Joe Cassady says the event recognizes the cattle industry, as it’s one of the largest sectors of agriculture in the state.

He says the Beef Bowl also raises thousands of dollars for student scholarships.

Plus, Cassady says SDSU annually recognizes the Friend of the Beef Industry, which went to First Dakota National Bank.

The Jackrabbits went on to easily defeat Southern Utah.
