The South Dakota State University Animal Science and Athletic Departments are holding their Pork Classic at Frost Arena Saturday. Proceeds from a pair of auctions will go to benefit students in the animal science and athletic departments. Extension Swine Specialist Dr. Bob Thaler says the two main purposes of the event are to help students and recognize the state’s pork industry.

Thaler says the event kicks off with an auction and a barbecue feed.

He says at halftime of the men’s basketball game, live hogs will be auctioned off.

The barbecue feed runs from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 just ahead of the basketball game.
