The 29th annual Lamb Bonanza will be held at Frost Arena in Brookings this Saturday with an auction at halftime of the basketball game. SDSU Extension Small Ruminant Specialist Kelly Froelich says the event is held to recognize the state’s sheep industry and provide scholarships for students in both the animal sciences and athletic departments at SDSU.

She says because attendance is being limited to only 800 people at the basketball game, that auction bids are being accepted remotely. Froelich says to just phone her or SDSU Professor Emeritus Jeff Held at either 612—999-3337 or 605—690—7033.

Froelich says scholarship funding is needed more than ever especially considering the economic challenges brought about because of the cost of the pandemic.

The Lamb Bonanza is co-sponsored by SDSU along with the South Dakota Sheep Grower’s Association.
