South Dakota lawmakers have given the go ahead to a $2 to $ 3 million swine research facility at South Dakota State University.  Senators voted 31 to 4 Tuesday to send the bill to the Governor.  SDSU Extension Swine Specialist Dr. Bob Thaler says there’s been widespread backing for this needed facility which will impact the region.

Thaler says being able to upgrade with an educational facility will help both the students and in going after grants.

Thaler says the newest facility for swine education they have on campus was built in 1991 with the second newest in 1971.
