Once every four years, the NCAA allows college basketball teams to travel abroad and add 10 additional practices to its summer schedule, helping the team prepare for the season ahead.

South Dakota State is taking advantage of that opportunity this week as it begins a five-day, four-game tour through Canada. The first game is Thursday/

The Jackrabbits will play single games against McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and the University of Ottawa (Ottawa, Ontario) with a pair of contests against Carleton (Ottawa) on the docket as well.

The defending Summit League regular season and tournament champion Jackrabbits return six letterwinners, including four seniors, from last year’s squad that went 28-7 overall with a 13-1 mark in Summit League play.
