The 2016-17 South Dakota State University men’s basketball season gets underway  Thursday with an exhibition contest between South Dakota State and South Dakota Mines inside Frost Arena.

Thursday’s contest, scheduled for 8:30 p.m., is the lone exhibition for the Jackrabbits before the regular season begins next week, and is part of a doubleheader with the women’s team.

The Jackrabbit women tipoff at 6 p.m. against Dakota Wesleyan.

The SDSU women opened exhibition play Oct. 27 with a commanding 89-49 win over Minnesota Crookston. With the win, the Jackrabbits are 19-0 in exhibition games since entering the Division I era.

Both games can be heard on 570 WNAX.
