The South Dakota beef industry was showcased at SDSU’s 52nd annual Beef Bowl on Saturday. SDSU President Barry Dunn says it is a great event to promote the impact the state’s cattle industry has on the economy.

Dunn says the Beef Bucks organization was recognized as this year’s Friend of the Beef Industry by SDSU for their innovative work building consumer demand.

South Dakota Beef Industry Council Executive Director Suzy Geppart says the event is a great chance for them to promote the nutritional value of beef to the public.

Geppart says they’re also working with SDSU athletes to incorporate beef into their training program.

The Council held their annual meeting in conjunction with the Beef Bowl and approved various check-off funding research and promotion projects.
