South Dakota’s cattle industry will be celebrated during this weekend’s SDSU Beef Bowl in Brookings. South Dakota Beef Industry Council President Karla Pazour says this is the annual meeting for the checkoff organization and they will be working on their budget for the coming year and allocating dollars to the various projects.

She says they’re working with a budget similar to last year at right around $3.5 million.

The Council will also be recognizing their Prime Promoters during the annual banquet. SDSU will also have their BBQ, name a Friend of the Beef Industry during halftime of the football game and auction off a steer and beef bundles to support Animal Science Scholarships.
