Labor concerns with Mexico are one of the holdups to Democrats agreeing to move forward ratification of the USMCA trade agreement. However, Mexico’s President has pledged to make sure their Senate overhauls labor laws to enforce workforce standards. South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association President Doug Noem is hoping that’s the step needed to get USCMA ratified and implemented.

He says they continue to work with ag groups and South Dakota’s Congressional delegation to push forward the trade pact.

Noem hopes Congress doesn’t drag its feet on the ratification process.

Vice President Mike Pence remains hopeful the U.S. Congress will get the USMCA ratified by as early as this spring.
