South Dakota Corn Growers Association members passed resolutions dealing with trade, livestock development and E30 at their annual convention on Saturday in Sioux Falls. President Troy Knecht says while several E30 resolutions regarding a public education campaign failed, they did pass a measure to support E30 in the state fleet.

He says the reason the other E30 proposals failed was because they don’t want to limit the industry’s ability to promote other ethanol blends.

Knecht says on the trade front, they passed policy supporting the opening of the China market and bi-lateral trade deals with Japan and other key customers. However, they oppose the use of trade tariffs.

Knecht says they also advanced a measure to increase livestock development in the state and require the approval of permits that meet all the required standards by the state.
