One area South Dakota Corn Grower Association members will be focusing on with state legislators when they convene in January will be property taxes. Incoming President, Bridgewater area farmer Scott Stahl says what happens with property taxes is on their radar screen and something they’re focusing on.

He says another area they’d like to work with state legislators on is the possibility of developing a low carbon fuel standard as that would help corn farmers capitalize on the corn they grow that’s turned into renewable fuel.

Stahl says not only do they want to work with state lawmakers on that issue but also see an opportunity to work with the incoming Biden administration as he’s focusing on climate change.

Stahl takes over as South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association President on January 1 and the State Legislative session gets underway on January 12.
