For the first time ever, three young people from South Dakota have been elected to serve on the six member National Farmers Union’s Youth Advisory Council. South Dakota Farmers Union’s Education Director Bonnie Geyer says they were chosen at the leadership camp recently held in Bailey, Colorado.

Geyer says the council will represent Farmers Union at various activities throughout the year and will take part in their Fall Fly In as well as their national convention.

Geyer says the six council members will then plan and implement next year’s all state leadership camp. Members of the Advisory council must have completed the eleventh grade and be at least 17 years old to serve.
