The American Wind Energy Association said in a release last week that a number of states have hit some milestones in wind produced electricity. Iowa now produces over thirty-five percent of its power from the wind. South Dakota and Kansas are close behind at over twenty-five percent power production from wind.
Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says while construction has slowed, there are a number of projects under consideration…..

At the same time, Nelson says they see a number of potential projects hitting some significant resistance…..

Nelson says the PUC has to balance all interests in any wind power application….

Nelson says he expects the push to be on over the next few years before the federal Production Tax Credit is reduced again to zero.
