The 89th annual National FFA Convention is taking place this week in Indianapolis with more than 60,000 members and guests in attendance. South Dakota State FFA Reporter Jaclynn Knutson says South Dakota is well represented at the event with hundreds of members taking in the convention sessions or competing in various contests.

She says South Dakota has a number of teams that will be judging in Career Development Events and several individuals are vying for national proficiency awards. Plus, several FFA members are receiving the highest membership honor in the organization on Saturday.

Knutson says South Dakota again has an outstanding national officer candidate and a national leadership contest finalist this year.

The FFA convention wraps up Saturday, October 22.
