Among the numerous ballot issues South Dakotans will have to decide in November is one that would change how tech schools are governed.
Currently, the four tech schools in Mitchell, Sioux Falls, Watertown and Rapid City are managed by their local school district.
Representative Mark Mickelson of Sioux Falls helped move the constitutional amendment through the legislature that would set up a separate board to govern the tech schools…..

Mickelson says Amendment “R” would get the state more in line with how two year schools are managed in other states…..

Mickelson says the change would not add much costs or another layer of government….

Mickelson says it is an important step for continued workforce development in South Dakota.

Mickelson spoke to the quarterly meeting of YAPG in Yankton.
