The South Dakota Department of Tourism held their annual convention last week in Pierre. Its where the awards are handed out, and the numbers updated.

Department Secretary Jim Hagen says they are seeing good returns from their target markets…..

Hagen says they also track how much visitors spend during their stay in the state…..

Overall visitor spending grew one-point two percent last year, to three point nine billion dollars.
