SD Task Force Drawing New Natural Resource District Maps

The River Basin Natural Resource District Oversight Task Force held their first meeting of the summer last week. The group was authorized by the 2015 South Dakota Legislature to redraw water district boundaries along drainage basins rather than county lines.
Task Force Chair Kim Vanneman of Ideal says they want to release the proposed maps as soon as possible……

Vanneman says the districts will follow the drainage areas as closely as possible….

Vanneman says they had input from Secretary of State Shantel Krebs on setting up the voting districts…..

The task force is set to meet again on August 16th.
