The Substance Abuse summer study committee of the South Dakota Legislature did not reach any consensus at their last meeting, and have not yet set a date for their next meeting.
Committee Co-Chair, Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says while meth abuse was their primary focus, they heard about other drug dangers…..

Stevens says not all the drug issues can be fixed with legislation…..

Stevens says they plan to circulate some legislative ideas, and possibly meet later this fall…..

A statewide education campaign on the dangers of meth is also being launched this fall.
