The State-Tribal Relations Committee of the South Dakota legislature met in Vermillion Monday, getting a briefing on the GEAR UP grant program, and taking public testimony.

Former legislator Frank Kloucek of Scotland appeared, and again pointed to sixty two million dollars that was misspent……

Kloucek asked the committee to question two former state officials……

Kloucek says there should also be an extensive audit of the associated programs……

The GEAR UP program was handled by the now disbanded Mid Central Educational Cooperative in Platte. Criminal cases are underway against three former officials of that cooperative.
