SD State Rail Board Pushing for Napa Line Improvements

The South Dakota State Railroad Board is taking a more detailed look at the condition and operations of state owned rail line. That includes the MRC line from Mitchell west, and the Napa – Platte line from western Yankton County west.
Board Chairman Todd Yeaton says they are getting more details on the Napa line….

Yeaton says they expect the rail operator, Dakota Southern, to make needed improvements to the line…..

Dakota Plains of Parkston is building a grain loading facility at the Napa Junction. Yeaton says they want to make sure the state facilities are ready when that project is done….

The rail board gave Dakota Southern a ninety day deadline to make needed improvements.
