Slow retail sales, and a sluggish farm economy are showing up in declining tax revenues for the State of South Dakota.
Governor Dennis Daugaard says those trends were showing up as the legislature wrapped up last month…..

The latest reports shows sales taxes running about ten million dollars below projections.
Daugaard says he has asked state agencies to cut back….

Daugaard says he wants to avoid dipping into state reserves….

Daugaard says while reserves rose a bit last year, they are now just a bit over ten percent of the budget.
