The South Dakota State Fair starts next Thursday in Huron. State Secretary of Agriculture Lucas Lentsch says they’re looking for another year of big attendance, with something for everyone in the family. He says they’re proud of the focus on the state’s youth. Both 4-H and FFA members will showcase thousands of exhibits and participate in livestock shows and other leadership events.

Lentsch is also proud the state fair has not gone the way of other fairs around the country and abandoned its traditional agricultural roots.

The South Dakota State Fair runs through Labor Day.
